Every card shows its source. World scrap (Global Scrap Index): an index of export price changes (Jan/2022 = 100), calculated from the values countries report to UN Comtrade. Brazil scrap: price in US$/t and R$/t, Comex Stat/MDIC. Nothing here is a yard price or a recommendation to buy or sell.

How to read the numbers

The "World scrap" tab (Global Scrap Index) shows how the export price of scrap moves worldwide (index with Jan/2022 = 100), and the "Brazil scrap" tab shows the Brazilian price per tonne. It tells you whether the market is rising or falling; how much is left in your yard, the calculator below shows.

Important: this is a foreign-trade price (FOB), not the yard price. Use it as a trend reference. The yard price is in the pilot dashboard, calculated from your own records.

Who is behind it

COOMETALS grew out of analyzing the scrap recycling process, with technical training and hands-on experience. The idea is simple: whoever knows what they hold negotiates better, and today scrap dealers lack a reliable reference for price and margin.

Common questions

How much does it cost?

The first 2 weeks are free. After that, R$ 99 per month at the founder price, locked for 12 months for the first 20 customers, with no lock-in period. You can cancel whenever you want.

Do I need a management system?

No. A simple spreadsheet with date, type (purchase or sale), class, weight, value and freight is enough.

What if my records are messy?

We agree on a simple format together. The first submission does not need to be perfect.

Is my data safe?

Only you see your dashboard. Nothing is shared with another customer or published with your name, and you can ask for deletion at any time. The calculator on this page runs on your device and sends nothing.

Where do the market prices come from?

The Global Scrap Index comes from UN Comtrade (exports declared by countries) and Brazil scrap from the government portal (MDIC), month by month. It is an export price, not a yard price. The yard price in the dashboard comes from your own records.
